Wellness & Preventative Care

Comet Side view.JPG

We recommend thorough physical exams on all animals every 6 months.  Examinations by your veterinarian can help diagnose issues early that can affect our pets.  With early diagnosis, can come early treatment and better quality of life for your pet.  We also discuss the importance of monthly heartworm prevention, flea and tick control, and other parasite control.  These are very prevalent and serious issues in our area.  We will determine a vaccination schedule that fits the appropriate needs of your pet according to their age, lifestyle, and environment.  We also offer and recommend microchip pet identification.  This helps ensure the safe return of your pet in the unfortunate case that your pet is lost.

Our hospital is fully equipped with in-house blood machines and advanced digital radiography, or x-ray, capabilities.  For patients that are not feeling well, we can provide same day information to the family and begin immediate treatment.  We also work closely with outside laboratories for further diagnostic blood or tissue tests that may be needed.

Surgery

We perform routine surgeries such as spays, neuters, and other soft tissue surgeries daily.  Every patient will have an anesthesia and pain medication protocol designed for their specific needs.  This is based on the patient’s age and type of surgery being performed.  Patients are monitored closely during anesthesia by an experienced surgery technician and additional monitoring equipment.

Dental

Proper dental care is very important to the long term health of your pet.  Routine dental cleanings help remove bacteria from the oral cavity that cannot only cause bad breath but contribute to the health of other internal organs such as the heart and kidneys.  Dental cleanings are performed daily.
